The DBTHS (Puma) Chess Club meets every Wednesday and Saturday, offering students dedicated time to play and practice chess. While Wednesday meetings are strictly for students, Saturdays are open to anyone interested in coming and playing chess with one another.

The club benefits greatly from the mentorship provided by volunteers from the Dayton Chess Society (DCS). Through our collaboration with DCS, we host various events throughout the year, fostering a strong chess community within our school. So far this school year, we have successfully organized two open and one scholastic chess tournament.

School Cancellations

Due to inclement weather and other emergencies, information will be released to local radio & TV stations as well as notification by school messenger. Dayton Business Technology High School is not always on the same schedule as Dayton Public Schools. Students should look for DBTHS when determining school closings and early dismissals.
