Mission
Dayton Business Technology High School, in collaboration with industry and post-secondary institutions, provides educational opportunities that demonstrate ambition, leadership, and motivation for students. Students are empowered to research industries and/or careers which match their interests and skill level. This process allows students to design a lifestyle versus making a living. This mission encompasses the following.
Vision
Dayton Business Technology High School creates an environment that lights the pathway to success where everyone becomes the best version of themselves.
Workforce & Community Development
To fulfill Dayton Business Technology High School’s belief that learning effective training for business and industry will prepare students for jobs in the future. Increase career awareness among students through developing well-articulated career pathways.
Student Services
Create and maintain an environment that addresses students' psychological, emotional, physical, and social needs. Expand and enhance services to special needs students. Enhance school safety and student discipline to create greater clarity, effectiveness, and consistency of procedures. Research, develop, and implement a comprehensive guidance plan. Develop more effective procedures for student attendance and communication with the school community.
Curriculum &
Instruction
To maintain and revise curriculum and instruction to meet the ever-changing needs of our students through curriculum revisions and professional development. Extend the level of staff development to comprise growing opportunities for academic and technical teachers to assimilate real-life connections into the curriculum. Address the needs of a diverse student population in preparation for entering a rapidly changing and competitive job market.
Values
The entire school climate is built around the “Be attitudes” and our “Core Values.” These values are Life Long Learning, Stewardship, Leadership, and Resilience. The “Be attitudes” are the first step in the students transitioning towards positive, and productive behaviors. They are:
Be Prepared,
Be On Time,
Be Accountable,
Be Consistent,
Be Respectful.
Funding
Establish policies and procedures to ensure maximum utilization of current dollars and to locate new sources of revenue.
